Jessica Jones is a former superhero who opens her own detective agency in New York City. She was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, who also wrote the comic book series that inspired the Netflix adaptation. The character was introduced as part of Alias (2001-2004) before being spun off into her own title, The Pulse (2004-2006). Jessica Jones went on hiatus from publication after issue #5 until Bendis reunited with Marvel to reboot their entire universe with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (2017).
